Meet the Founder

Supun Jayawardhane is the founder and lead structural engineer of Structural Express. He has spent his career doing one thing: producing structural packages that plan reviewers accept — foundations, framing, lateral systems, calculations, and the drawings that tie them together.

His work spans single-family homes, additions, remodels, ADUs, and light-commercial structures across U.S. jurisdictions, including high-seismic California projects requiring full lateral analysis — shear walls, diaphragms, collectors, moment frames, and strong-wall systems designed to IBC, IRC, CBC, and ASCE 7.

Supun leads a small, hand-picked engineering team and personally reviews every package before it goes out. When you book a consult, you talk to him — the same engineer who will run your calculations, not an account manager reading a script.

Beyond project work, he has built internal design tools, calculation systems, and QA frameworks used across the firm — because consistent engineering comes from consistent process, not luck.
